DNS Updates

You can configure DHCPv4 to dynamically update the DNS service of your appliance. Enabling this feature makes the association of host to IP address automatic and hassle-free.

While host-to-IP address is not as critical as being able to resolve the IP address of a name server, dynamic DNS update by DHCPv4 has its advantages:

1. minimizes the need for an administrator to manually update zone records;

2. keeps the DNS database up-to-date, making tracking of IP address assignments effortless; and

3. enables administrators to easily define and deploy user-specific settings.
